6th grade state performance indicators (SPI’s) for math

WE NEED TISSUES, LYSOL WIPES and PAPER TOWELS!!!!

3 STRIKES DURING CLASS WILL EARN AN OFFICE REFERRAL.

Some helpful ideas for a successful math student: always have your pencil, paper, and composition notebook; always have something to keep notes and graded papers in; be prepared to listen and follow directions; be prepared to be called on to participate in class; practice makes perfect; always speak up when you have a question; math is everywhere; always read your decimals correctly (3.4 is 3 and 4 tenths, not 3 point 4); if you have a missing assignment…make it up as soon as possible; remember that other students may work faster or slower than you…work at your own best pace; put forth your best effort.

NO ZEROS!!!!!!

IT TAKES 2 GRADES OF 100% TO MAKE 1 ZERO AVERAGE TO A 75%.

0% + 100% = 100 / 2 grades which = 50%.

50% +100% = 150 / 2 grades = 75%.

HOWEVER, if I average it like this, 0 + 100 + 100 = 200, and then do 200 / 3, you only get a 67%! Lesson? DON”T GET A ZERO!!!!
